Biography

Steph Holmes is an artist deeply inspired by nature, channeling her love for the natural world into highly detailed, immersive works of art. From a young age, Steph spent her days exploring the forests near her home, where her connection with nature began. However, as life pulled her into the corporate world, she found herself distant from the serenity she once knew. To reconnect, she returned to daily walks in the woods, reigniting her passion for art and observation.
In July 2024, she finally reached the place where she could focus on her art full-time. Her work is a reflection of the healing and tranquility she experiences in nature, bringing the beauty of the
outdoors into every piece she creates. She primarily works with acrylic paint, either on canvas or in the form of meticulously crafted paper sculptures. Her paper sculptures are so lifelike, they often appear to be real insect specimens at first glance.
Steph’s art is divided into two primary bodies of work: intricate, layered scenes on canvas that explore the spiritual connections and meanings behind animals, and her three-dimensional paper sculptures, which capture the breathtaking details of winged  insects. She believes that a deeper connection with nature can be transformative and healing, and her work invites viewers
to rediscover their own bond with the natural world. Fresh off her recent solo exhibition, Steph is currently working on a new series featuring a striking wall of insect specimens alongside a collection of canvas pieces that explore animal connections and spiritual symbolism.
