Artist - Tracy Lambros
Statement
My work grows out of a lifelong passion for natural spaces. The physical and psychological energy of a place, and the impact that energy has on the human spirit, mind, and body has always fascinated me. This exhibition, for the first time, pairs two of my creative passions: photography and painting. Each medium satisfies a different creative need for me. Photography allows for the immediate gratification of spontaneously capturing a moment in time and composing that image on the spot. Simply put – what catches my eye and entices my imagination at that moment. Painting provides an improvisational experience where the work unfolds and evolves through mark making, discovering textures fortuitously, finding shapes organically, and creating unexpected palettes. Evocations of land, sea, and sky are a response to nature filtered through memory and time, guided by an intuitive process. Personal meaning resonates as the viewer enters the world, which is as ever-changing, wild, and enigmatic as the natural world that inspired it.
